Brown Toes (Anthony Young)
The story of Brown Toes™ begins with its founder and CEO, Anthony Young. Young has a background in political organizing and fundraising, and many years of experience in children's retail. His charisma and persuasive skills, as well as his professional experience in the children's retail industry serve him well as an entrepreneur.
Young's infectious enthusiasm for life, empathy for others, and appreciation for the rich, multicultural history of this nation have fueled his entrepreneurial spirit. From his own personal values, he has developed a set of positive values for living that are the DNA of the Brown Toes™ brand.
Young was inspired to launch his own business by his parents- people who were committed to involvement in the civil rights struggle and deeply protective and proud of their children. Young's desire to become an entrepreneur went beyond the aspiration to own a business. He developed one that recognizes and celebrates past history, and encourages creating new history- through respect for past traditions and the desire to create new ones. Young's own family and their strong commitment to one another taught him to characterize the concept of "family" very broadly in developing the story of his company's products. His respect for all people is carried through every aspect of his business, and is a driver behind his strict quality standards.
Brown Toes™ produces and sells a line of baby products that crystallize Young's respect for our nation's multicultural history, and teach children important lessons about valuing, respecting and loving their family and friends. Further, Brown Toes™ products encourage families to create their own history, while appreciating that of their ancestors.
The staff at Brown Toes™ is committed to quality- the quality of our products as well as the quality of the consumer's experience
Anthony is a very dear friend of the Rejoice Family and we love his philosophy and vision that he has for his company. We at Rejoice are so excited about our partnership with Brown Toes and hope that you will support our efforts to educate about our history. Sweetgrass Greetings (Kisha Rawlinson)
Sweetgrass Greetings is a new company with a long history of sweetgrass basket making. Owner, Kisha Rawlinson, started learning to make sweetgrass baskets over 25 years ago at the age of 8. She was instructed by the matriarchs of her family while growing up in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Kisha attended Charleston county schools and graduated from the College of Charleston. She resides in Charlotte, NC with her family. Her mother and grandmother live in Walterboro, SC and Mt. Pleasant, SC, respectively.
Today, she and her family carry on the tradition of selling their baskets and now introduce these wonderful images in postcards, greeting cards and prints.
Sweetgrass Greetings prides itself on making exquisite sweetgrass baskets. Much time and care are given to each basket resulting in baskets that reflect symmetry, strong construction and beauty. Each basket represents a family member's unique style following in the footsteps of tradition and teaching, while at times flirting with contemporary influence.
Kisha is an awesome basket seamstress and this art/gift has been passed down to her from generations of women in her family. We are excited about working with Kisha and bringing her baskets to the Rejoice family and we hope that you’ll share the baskets with your family for many years to come.
You can reach Kisha at customerservice@sweetgrassgreetings, call 704-726-5436 or visit her website at www.sweetgrassgreetings.com
NewKraz (Azelia Scott)
We partnered with NewKraz because Azelia Scott makes the most amazing bags and she’s a stay-home mom like me.
She started making bags (diaper bags, clutch bags, tote bags) in 2002 as a result of wanting to find a way to bring in some extra income, since she was a stay-at-home mom.
Her children have grown some and so has her business, we are excited about the wonderful new bags that we will be carrying from NewKraz and of course they’ll have our product in them.
Her website will be available late October 2007 and her bags will be featured on Rejoices’ website mid October 2007.
You can reach Azelia at newkraz@aim.com
HeArt Works Studio (Sharaijah Dunn)

We are excited about our partnership with HeArt Works Studio and the Woodburned Boxes that are sure to become a family heirloom. Look for the boxes to be released with our Christmas/ Holiday Season Product line. HeArt Works Studio will have a website to launch mid October, 2007.
